Naskapi Climate Change Action Plan

Project Objective :

Acquiring insights into the documented and anticipated impacts of climate change on the Indigenous territory and the community's greenhouse gas emissions, in order toestablish well-defined guidelines for addressing both current and projected effects.

Our role :

Project Lead & Coordination:

• Coordinating community consultations

• Coordinating environmental studies (“GHG”, carbon footprint, etc.)

• Drafting the Climate Change Action plan

• Reporting to Indigenous leadership

• Facilitating legal and regulatory analysis

Status : In progress

• The Climate Change Action Plan Committee has been formed and is actively engaged in arranging community consultations, as well as conducting research around climate change impacts.

Results :

• None for now.
