Tasks and Responsibilities

Briefly, the person in this role will be expected to:

  • Actively participate in the preparation and implementation of business plans, particularly in financial forecasting and analysis, and in:

    • Engaging relevant stakeholders;

    • Developing corporate structures and ownership models;

    • Identifying operational processes in collaboration with subject matter experts.

  • Analyze financial and economic viability and model investment scenarios.

  • Support the negotiation of agreements with federal and provincial  governments, notably by analyzing and developing financial models to support the responsibilities of Indigenous governments.

  • Participate in projects related to eco-fiscal policy development.

  • Contribute to the completion of socioeconomic studies (e.g., cost of living, housing needs, etc.).

  • Draft funding applications for federal, provincial, and private grants.

  • Assist in the coordination and monitoring of various ongoing mandates and projects.

Tasks may vary depending on the projects and mandates led by our team and according to the interests of the selected candidate.

Sought Competencies

We are looking for someone who combines strong financial and economic analysis skills with a generalist approach. A good understanding of business development dynamics, operations management, logistics, and public policy is a major asset.

The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and action-driven, with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.

Requirements

  • University degree in business administration, finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.

  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.

  • Excellent skills in financial modeling and cash flow analysis.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and the Office Suite.

  • Strong professional writing skills and ability to synthesize complex information.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Interest in and ability to work in a multicultural context, especially with First Nations.

  • An interest in renewable energy, economic development, or sustainable finance is an asset.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally to remote regions.

  • Excellent communication skills in both English and French, written and spoken.

  • Must like dogs, as we have two in our office.
